CHS Drama Club Heading To State Competition

The Calumet High School Drama Club will be competing in the Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association statewide competition in Grand Rapids in February.

The club will be performing Under the Northern Star, an original one-act play about the unique heritage of our area, written for the competition by 97-7 The Wolf’s Kris Kyro.

CHS Drama Club--Under The Northern Star, 2016The club consists of 10 students and they will be competing against 12 other schools in the statewide competition, and they will be the only school there from the U.P.

The local public will get two chances to see the performance before they head downstate.

The first will be at the District Competition in the Calumet High School Commons on Tuesday, February 2nd at 7pm.

The second will be at the Regional Competition at the Calumet Theater on Saturday, February 13th at 2pm.

Admission is free but donations are appreciated.

These performances are a fundraiser to help cover travel expenses for the trip to states.
