Chassell Man Gets Probation

A Chassell man will spend 24 months on probation after driving a snowmobile under the influence of alcohol. In addition to probation, 43 year old James Manderfield has his snowmobile privileges revoked for six months. He pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of operating a snowmobile while intoxicated earlier this month in Houghton County District Court. In January, Manderfield fell through the ice on Portage Lake near Dollar Bay and was rescued by police.
