Charges Brought In Flint Water Crisis

Two state employees plead not guilty to misconduct and tampering charges related to the Flint water crisis.

Department of Environmental Quality supervisor Stephen Busch and engineer Michael Prysby face up to five years in jail if convicted on the charges.

They have been suspended without pay from their state jobs.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette and his team of investigators say the two willfully and knowingly mislead Environmental Protection Agency workers and Genesee County Health Department officials in violation of their duties to provide clean and safe drinking water to Flint residents and to protect the public health.

Flint worker Michael Glasgow is facing tampering and willful neglect of duty charges.

Schuette says he “guarantees” there will be more charges.
