The 58 people who died when the plane they were flying in crashed into Lake Michigan 65 years ago will be remembered in a ceremony at a South Haven cemetery today.
Valerie VanHeest wrote a book about the crash of Northwest Airlines Flight 2501.
The remains of the victims have been buried in an unmarked grave at a South Haven cemetery ever since.
Beginning today a boulder reading, “Northwest Flight 2501, June 24, 1950,” will mark their final resting place.
