It’s been about a century since the beginning of World War I, The Salvation Army invented the doughnut and so-called “Doughnut Girls” served the treat to military forces and The Salvation Army in Hancock wants you to celebrate with them.
Events include a doughnut eating contest, a doughnut decorating contest, a silent auction and dozen doughnut sales.
There will also be a meet and greet with a local doughnut girl, Susan McLean, who served doughnuts through The Salvation Army to soldiers in WWII.
All of this takes place Friday, June 23rd at 5:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army in Hancock.
Admission is five dollars per person and children 6 and under are free.
