The Houghton County Fair is underway, and judging has wrapped up for this year’s awards. Houghton county residents represented themselves well, with incredible needlework, art, baking, floriculture, and horticulture. This year’s Exhibitor of the Year goes to Cathy Isaacson, of Mohawk, who won best in show for both knitting and crochet. Isaacson also took home the Silver Plate Award for needle work. This year’s Agnes Ahola Award, given to a volunteer who shows passion for the fair, was awarded to Ruth Salo, of Hancock.
