One young man from the Copper Country could earn an opportunity to appear in the classic Broadway musical “Camelot” next month at the Rozsa Center. The national touring production of “Camelot” will perform at the Rozsa on October 21st. The role in question is that of “Tom of Warwick”… a stowaway who wishes to join King Arthur’s knights in battle. Prospective actors should be between the ages of eight and 13. They should be able to memorize 10 to 15 lines of dialogue, and follow stage directions. A chaperone over the age of 18 must be available to accompany the performer at all times during the production. Videotaped auditions will take place this Saturday at the Rozsa Center. Registration begins at 11:45. Actors should dress casually and bring a headshot and a 50-word bio. They should be prepared to read the “Tom of Warwick/King Arthur” scene (end of Act 2) with Trish Helsel, Michigan Tech’s Associate Professor of Theatre. Scripts will be available at registration.
For advance copies, additional information, or to find out how to submit an audition if you can’t be there Saturday, contact Mary Muncil at 487-2856 or memuncil@mtu.edu.
