Hope you got your strawberry shortcake–or perhaps several–at the Copper Country Strawberry Festival.
The annual event held in Chassell featured 15 young women vying to be named the 2016 Strawberry Queen.
That honor went to Calumet’s Jessica Berryman.
The first runner-up was Lindsay Sandell of Houghton, Ann Desrochers of Houghton was 2nd runner-up and the 3rd runner up was Adelinn Huuki of Jeffers High School.
Houghton’s Megan Bugni was Miss Photogenic and Josie Ledgerwood of Houghton was Miss Congeniality.
Chassell’s Outstanding Youth Citizen of the Year Award went to Hannah Tuomi of Chassell.
The entire court participated in the Strawberry Parade where Superior National Bank’s strawberry float was named Best in Show.
