A Calumet native is moving up in the ranks of the Michigan National Guard.
Deputy Commander of the 46th Military Police Command Paul Rogers has been promoted to Brigadier General.
He received his new rank insignia symbols at a promotion ceremony last weekend in Lansing
Rogers received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech.
He also has a Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Rogers is currently the full-time director of the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center at the Detroit Arsenal.
He also served in Iraq in 2005.
His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Parachutist Badge and the Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal.
Rogers and his family reside in Farmington Hills.
