A Calumet man has been charged with breaking into Harter’s Auto Supply in Calumet on April 21st. Chain saws and other tools were stolen from the business, along with what Calumet Police Chief David Outinen told us was a “considerable amount” of cash from the safe. 36-year-old Isaac Laplander was arrested on Monday. Laplander posted bond, and was arraigned Wednesday on charges of Breaking and Entering a Building with Intent, a 10-year felony, and Safe Breaking, a felony punishable by any term up to life in prison. Outinen says some of the stolen material was recovered in a search of Laplander’s home.
