Lieutenant Governors from all over the country are in Grand Rapids today and will be hearing about Michigan’s comeback.
Lt. Governor Brian Calley and Governor Snyder will discuss reinventing the state by creating more and better jobs, revitalizing the educational system, and revamping government to focus on customer service.
Detroit’s comeback will also be discussed later this morning with Deputy Mayor Ike McKinnon and former Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr.
This afternoon the focus shifts to Grand Rapids and its economic diversity.
Mayor Rosalynn Bliss, Amway President Doug DeVos and ArtPrize Director Christian Gaines will be talking about partnerships involving government, economic development, and culture.
The conference runs through Friday.
