Governor Rick Snyder and Republican legislative leaders have a final agreement on budget targets for the 2015-16 fiscal year.
The $9.5 billion general fund spending plan includes $400 million for roads including $240 million considered one-time revenue from temporary changes in tax revenue forecasts.
The plan also includes a 1.5 percent increase in aid for university operations.
With the target agreement now in place, the chairs of the House and Senate Appropriations subcommittees can finalize budgets for each department and major budget areas.
