Brandon Tatum talks at Michigan Tech

Brandon Tatum came and spoke at Michigan Tech last Tuesday evening, March 29.

The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) originally voted to deny the funding for the event after hearing concerns from individuals of the LGBTQ plus community.

They were overruled by Michigan Tech’s administration. Individuals spoke against Tatum coming to speak at the university after hearing transphobic and anti-LGBTQ plus personal opinions in his YouTube videos.

Turning Point USA (TPUSA) organized Tatum’s trip. The President of Michigan Tech’s chapter of TPUSA, Caleb Glenn, assured that he would protect any and all individuals who felt they could be in danger at the events. Though there were no protesters at the talk, campus police were present.
