Patients with recurrent brain cancers doubled their survival after undergoing viral therapy according to a new study. It’s a 2 step process.
First, during brain surgery a specially engineered virus is injected to infect tumor cells. This continues as the patient heals from surgery.
Step 2 happens about a month later, when the patient takes medicine to interact with the virus.
