The search for a missing L’Anse man is over.
Michigan State Police were notified around 1:20am Friday of a body found in Powell Township in Marquette County about seven miles north of the intersection of Northwestern Road and AAA Rd.
A camper came across the body and called police after hiking out of the wooded area to find cell phone service.
The body believed to be that of 33 year old Joseph Waisanen was located at the scene.
Waisanen was found about 5 miles from where the truck was located back on April 18th.
Next to kin have been notified.
No foul play is suspected.
Cause of death and positive identification will be determined by a medical examiner at U.P. Health Systems Marquette.
