A group of boaters are safe following a harrowing afternoon on the lake.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a vessel in distress in the Bete Grise area Monday shortly before 2:00pm.
They were reported to be in trouble about 4.5 miles north of the Lac Labelle boat launch with four people on board.
The 20’ vessel was found adrift just off shore of the Montreal Falls area.
The vessel was secured and towed back to safety.
No one on the vessel was injured.
The Coast Guard from the Portage Station also assisted with the rescue.
