Bill Would Make It Easier To Sell Inherited Guns

A bill making it easier for those who inherit a gun to sell it awaits a vote in the Senate.

Current law requires that someone be licensed to have a gun to legally possess the weapon, which poses a problem for those who may inherit a gun.

Senator Mike Shirkey says his bill would allow the inheritor to check the registration without fear of confiscation and then sell of the gun without breaking the law.

The bill cleared a Senate committee.
