Bill Would Allow Hunters to Wear Pink Instead of Orange

Hunters would have the option to wear blaze orange or hunter pink under legislation introduced in the Michigan House.

State Representative Lisa Posthumus-Lyons, R-Alto, is sponsoring the bill and says adding the color pink makes sense because hunters can easily spot it but deer can’t.

Lyons says, because of that, if the bill becomes law she might don pink every once in a while when she goes out to hunt – and suspects some men might too.

The measure awaits a hearing in a House committee.

Lawmakers are currently on spring break, so the bill won’t be taken up for at least two weeks.
