A measure that aims to spell out what happens to the photos you store online and your Facebook and Twitter accounts when you die has passed the Michigan House.
The bill, sponsored by State Representative Anthony Forlini is designed to protect digital assets.
He says, with more and more people storing photos online over putting together photo albums, there should be a legal way to ensure someone has access to those.
Forlini says you could just share a password or keep that information in a file but it still doesn’t guarantee a legal right to things stored online.
The legislation now moves to the Michigan Senate.
