Bill Cracking Down on Coerced Abortions Will get September Hearing

Legislation making it illegal to force someone to have an abortion tops one Michigan House committee chairs agenda.

State Representative Kurt Heise chairs the House Criminal Justice Committee and has slated the bill atop the committees docket.

It isn’t scheduled to meet again until late September.

State Representative Amanda Price is sponsoring the bill and says no woman should be forced or to talked in to having an abortion.

Heise says the legislation is timely given the recent release of videos allegedly showing Planned Parenthood discussing the sale of fetal body parts.

Price says she didn’t introduce the bill in response to the videos.

In fact, she introduced the bill before the first video was released.

However Price says the videos and her legislation brings to light what she calls the vile nature of abortion.
