Beware Of Meth Lab Components In The Woods

With hunting season arriving, the Michigan State Police from the Calumet Post is reminding people not to handle any suspicious materials they may find while in the woods.

Those may be things like solvent containers, drain cleaners, fuel cans, coffee filters, cold packs, lithium batteries, bottles with sludge in them, or bottles with plastic tubing attached to them.

That’s because those are items often found as remnants of an illegal meth lab.

Waste or dumpsites like these are commonly being found in wooded areas, campsites, and two track roads.

If anyone finds any substances believed to be related to meth labs, police say not to handle the materials but to call 911.
