Benishek Receives NRA Endorsement

First District Republican U.S. Congressman Dan Benishek has been endorsed for reelection by the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund.

Dr. Benishek received an A+ grade from the NRA-PVF for his support of the Second Amendment. “The responsible use of guns is a part of our way of life here in Northern Michigan, ” Benishek said. “Whether it is for hunting or protecting one’s family, I will never waiver from defending an individuals’ right to bear arms as protected by the Second Amendment.”

Benishek’s opponent in the November, Democrat Jerry Cannon, is a former National Guard general and Kalkaska County Sheriff. He has also pledged to support Second Amendment rights if elected.
