Benishek Looks to “Fix” Healthcare System

U.S. Congressman Dan Benishek recently introduced new legislation that would help protect patients and ensure that Americans do not lose their health insurance when they become sick. The bill would prevent insurance companies from cancelling an individual’s health insurance unless that individual had engaged in fraud or intentional misrepresentation with regard to their policy. Benishek says Americans need certainty in their health care and this bill is a good first step. Benishek recently cosponsored a bill to prohibit insurers from denying coverage for a pre-existing condition and a second bill which will require insurance companies to provide coverage to dependents up to the age of 26.
