Benishek Awarded By AMA

Congressman Dan Benishek is the recipient of the Champion of the AMA award from the American Motorcyclists Association.

The award recognizes Dr. Benishek’s commitment to preserving the ability of young riders to enjoy off-highway vehicles, fighting to end motorcycle-only checkpoints, maintaining access to public lands for riders, and preventing federal agencies from arbitrarily imposing regulations.

Benishek said riding ATVs and motorcycles through the trails and roads of Northern Michigan is a way of life for many up here and riders deserve to be treated fairly, like all others who use the roads. Benishek said he was honored to receive the award and pledged to continue to fight for the equal treatment of ATV and motorcycle riders under the law.

Vice President of Government Relations for the American Motorcycle Association, Senator Wayne Allard said the AMA recognizes the strong support from Congressman Benishek and protecting the motorcycle lifestyle, protecting the future of motorcycling, and the rights of riders.
