The Michigan DNR has determined the winners of this year’s drawing for bear and elk hunting licenses. The agency had slightly more than 7,800 bear licenses and 100 elk licenses available in the respective drawings. All of the elk licenses and most of the bear licenses have already been accounted for. However, 267 bear licenses are still available in the Bergland Management Unit, one of the DNR’s five bear management units in the U.P. The remaining bear licenses will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone with a Lifetime Comprehensive License who wasn’t selected in the drawing can buy one starting at 10:00 a.m. next Monday, July 7th. For a list of the winners, click here.
