BCMH ANNOUCES NEW CEO

Baraga County Memorial Hospital announces Margie Hale has been named the new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2015.

Since the departure of former CEO, Tim Zwickey, Ms. Hale has held the dual role of Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer at BCMH.

“Margie has done an outstanding job the past ten month serving as both Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Her education, nursing and administrative experiences in various healthcare settings, prior to her BCMH employment, have all contributed to her being an excellent choice as the new Chief Executive Officer of Baraga County Memorial Hospital”, stated Fran Whitman, BCMH Board Chair.

Hale is a native of Iowa who previously held the position of practice administrator for Urology Associates of Iowa City, IA, Director of Nursing at Iowa City Ambulatory Surgical Center, worked as both charge and staff nurse at Door County Memorial Hospital in Sturgeon Bay, WI; Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis, MO; and Moberly Regional Medical Center in Moberly, MO. She has extensive leadership experience, has worked at other Critical Access Hospitals such as BCMH, and has financial analysis and a data management background. Hale joined BCMH in November 2012 as the Chief Nursing Officer also assisting in surgeries performed at BCMH.

Hale holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing, in addition to a Masters of Business Administration degree. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society.

Ms. Hale stated, “It has been a goal of mine to achieve a position where I can use the knowledge gained as a clinician and a leader to help influence the health care delivery in a critical access hospital. I appreciate the communities and staff vote of confidence, and look forward to working with the staff and community to deliver the best patient care experience and outcomes.”
