Barnelopet Kid's Ski Race in Hancock

The Keweenaw Nordic Ski Club and Sons of Norway annual Barnelopet takes place this Sunday, February 7th.

Barnelopet is Norwegian for “kid’s race.” The annual event, held at Hancock’s Maasto Hiihto trails, encourages kids and families to get out and enjoy the winter weather.

Registration is open for kids ages 3 through 17 years old.
Registration takes place at 1-1:45 pm at the Four Seasons Chalet in Hancock
A suggested donation of $3 per child or $5 per family is welcome.

The Barneløpet features groomed and marked courses of 1, 2, 4, and 6 km to accommodate children of differing ages and abilities. Parents can ski with their children if they wish, to make it a family outing.

There are no age requirements to register for a specific race, choose which distance your child will have the most fun skiing. Start times are subject to change according to weather conditions.
