A Baraga man who took police on a high speed chase in October has been deemed competent, allowing his case to move forward. 21-year-old Daniel Wadaga is facing a number of charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property, OWI, and fleeing in the second degree. A competency exam was ordered this fall, which he has since passed. Wadaga took police on a chase that spanned over 40 miles in Baraga County until police arrested him on U.S. 41 near Bovine. He has a preliminary exam scheduled for April 8th in Baraga County District Court.
