Aspirus At Home among nation’s best home health agencies

Aspirus At Home, formerly Aspirus VNA Home Health, recently was named a Top Agency of the 2014 HomeCare Elite, rating it among the top 25 percent of the nearly 10,000 home health agencies in the United States.

The HomeCare Elite is a compilation of the top performing home health agencies in the nation. Now in its ninth year, the HomeCare Elite identifies the top Medicare-certified agencies and this marks the seventh time Aspirus VNA Home Health has been recognized among the top 25 percent in the nation or higher.

“HomeCare Elite recognition is a significant acknowledgement. In today’s health care ecosystem, it is imperative that our seniors have access to quality home health care in order to ensure better patient outcomes and improve overall cost, and therefore, home health care continues to remain an integral part of the care continuum,” said Marci Heydt, Product Manager for the post-acute care business group of DecisionHealth. “The winners of the HomeCare Elite Award are proving that a heightened focus on clinical outcomes, patient experience, and financial management leads to success.”

The data used for the annual review is compiled from publicly available information that pertains to quality outcomes, process measure implementation, patient experience, quality improvement, and financial performance.

According to the review, agencies in the HomeCare Elite have clinical outcome scores that are significantly better than agencies not in the HomeCare Elite.

Aspirus At Home has offices in Wausau, Rhinelander, Antigo, Medford, Stevens Point, Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, Ironwood and Calumet. It serves the skilled health care and the supportive home care needs of people from north and central Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

The 2014 HomeCare Elite is brought to the industry by OCS HomeCare by National Research Corporation, the leading provider of home care information, and DecisionHealth, publisher of home care’s most respected independent newsletter Home Health Line.
