Arguments Continue Over Education Budget

The Michigan House has passed a School Aid budget Republicans say provides a record amount of money for schools, but Democrats argue the money is not going to the right place.

House Republican Al Pscholka says the $15.8 billion education budget benefits everyone, adding that no school will lose money.

But Democratic Representative Sam Singh says, in some cases, cyber schools will get more money than brick and mortar schools, and that’s wrong.

The budget passed on a 60-50 vote mostly along party lines.

The state Senate is working on its own education budgets. When its done, members from both chambers will come together to work out the differences.
