Area-Wide Crisis Team Development Update

The area-wide crisis team continues to come together.

The team, being organized by the Copper Country Intermediate School District, has settled on a mission statement and purpose statements.

The update was give to the District Board of Education at their regular April meeting.

A sub-committee of the crisis team has been formed to create a resource list, brochure and guidelines–which will be posted on the CCISD website for schools and community groups to download when needed.

The group will seek to set up training for all schools this summer.

In other business, the Portage Health Foundation has provided a grant for $50,000 for a second year to be used for the Heath related Career and Technical Education classes offered through the ISD.

Presentations on the current status of CTE programs are planned at various local groups, including the Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance.

Superintendent George Stockero said he is interested in hearing from any business that would like to get a better understanding of how the CCISD can help.
