A former volunteer with the Houghton High School hockey team has been sentenced on his fourth degree criminal sexual conduct charge. 30-year-old Brad Aldrich was in Houghton County Circuit court today and was sentenced to nine months in Houghton County jail but will receive credit for 59 days he has already served. Then he will be under probation for five years and be required to apply as a registered sex offender. Under the terms of his probation, he must not come within 1000 feet of any school or any function that involves minors. He is to not make any contact with the victim, directly or indirectly. Aldrich was ordered to pay restitution as well, along with a prohibition on attending any athletic events where minors may be present. Neither the victim nor the family of the victim were present in court.
