ABLE Program Approved By House

The Michigan House has approved a bill creating a 529 savings plan for disabled children called the ABLE program.

It would allow parents or guardians of a disabled child to put money away — tax free — for the child to use later in life to cover medical expenses.

ABLE stands for Achieving a Better Life Experience.

The bill now moves to the Michigan Senate.
