The state Senate gave final legislative approval to a $30 million supplemental spending bill Tuesday intended to reimburse Flint residents for their water bills.
The measure now heads to Governor Rick Snyder for his signature.
The money will be offered as a credit to Flint residents who have been paying water bills between April of 2014 and now or as a credit for future payments.
But the funding only covers a portion of their water bill and doesn’t include sewer costs.
Businesses will also get a small credit.
The city’s water has been undrinkable since lead from service pipes leached into the drinking water. A result of the city changing its water source.
A decision made while under state emergency management.
