Quincy Street Streetscape Project Begins In April

The start of the major reconstruction of Quincy Street in Hancock is approaching.

The Michigan Department of Transportation Communications Representative Dan Weingarten says the Quincy Street Streetscape Project will have a big impact on local motorists.

The project will focus mainly on US-41 through downtown Hancock, including upgrades to the water infrastructure and a complete reconstruction of the road.

Though there will be headaches for motorists this summer, the hope is that the end result is worth it, much like the Houghton streetscape project a few years ago.

Work is scheduled to begin next month and last until July 2017.
