Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette spoke yesterday at the Finnish American Heritage Center in Hancock to many local government officials including Hancock Mayor Lisa McKenzie who introduced Schuette. Finlandia President Philip Johnson presented Schuette with a gift of some Finlandia University gear. Then he talked about his work during his term as the state’s attorney general and what he plans to do if he is re-elected. But there was one thing many people had on their mind: the Amerigas price-gouging case.
Schuette added that he had a message for Amerigas, as well as Ferrellgas, another company caught in the propane price-spiking controversey.
Among those who attended the event were the Houghton and Hancock Rotaries, the Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance and the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce.
