High School students will be competing against one another this week in the face-paced Local History Smackdown.
Ten teams of students from the area will try and answer questions about the local history, geography and geology.
Keweenaw National Historical Park Acting Superintendent and Chief of Interpretation & Education Kathleen Harter says the students have been working hard to get ready.
In honor of their 100th anniversary, this year’s Smackdown also features several rounds of questions about the National Park Service–including the Isle Royale National Park and Keweenaw National Historical Park.
The Local History Smackdown takes place at the Calumet Theater Thursday at 7pm.
The event is free and open to the public.
