12 Dogs of Christmas Begins Today

Now that the 12 Days of Christmas are over, it’s time for the annual 12 Dogs of Christmas.

Houghton Community Broadcasting has once again teamed up with the Copper Country Humane Society to feature a dozen representatives from among the many dogs available at the shelter.

Katelyn Hough, who works at the Shelter, says the promotion has worked so well the last couple of years that all 12 of the dogs have been adopted.

Though many people want to get a puppy, Hough says puppies are a lot more work than most people realize.

Adopting an older dog has many advantages.

At any given time, there are around 20 dogs being taken care of by the shelter along with 70 to 80 cats.
