Worlds First “Pasty Art Prize Competition”

Pasties are a greatly beloved cultural food of the UP, and there’s even a yearly festival in honor of the food, with this year’s Pasty Fest occurring in August.

Main Street Calumet announced the world’s first Pasty Art Prize Competition, where artists from across the Upper Peninsula will have an opportunity to submit their pasty-themed artwork.

The pieces and installations will be displayed in local Calumet businesses, allowing customers and community members to visit Calumet’s historic downtown and vote on their favorite pieces.

The voting period will last 30 days, and pieces are due July 10th. The winners will be announced August 19th at Pasty fest. First place winner will take home $300 in Keweenaw Cash.

All mediums of art are welcome. Scan the QR code on the flyer below to sign up.
