The Lake Superior Sportsman’s Club, will offer its annual all ladies shooting workshop from 1 to 5 p.m. EDT, Sunday, Aug. 13 at its clubhouse, which is located near Silver City, the eastern gateway town to Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park.

This is yet another workshop offered by the club as part of a continuing series of events aimed at promoting family involvement and encouraging new users to hunting, trapping and shooting sports.

This non-competitive shooting event will focus on the safe and enjoyable use of handguns, rifles, and archery equipment.

“This free workshop is intended to provide ladies instruction on the safe and enjoyable use of handguns, rifles and archery equipment,” said Lake Superior Sportsman’s Club President Walt Toepfer. “Safety talks, instructions for use, and a lot of shooting time will be provided. Participants do not need to be club members to take advantage of this fun-filled event.”

The club will provide guns, ammunition, archery equipment, and refreshments.

If participants wish, they may bring their own handguns, rifles, ammunition, and/or archery equipment. Also, bring your own eye and ear protection if you have it; the club will have limited supplies.

This event has limited number of openings and preregistration is required.

The workshop will be held rain or shine and all shooting will be indoors at the Lake Superior Sportsman’s Clubhouse, 31433 West M-64, east of Silver City.

All ladies are welcome, but anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Previous club workshops have been offered on beginning trapping, introductory archery, and a beginning trap fun-shoot.
