According to a press release from the Baraga County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call Friday concerning a woman falling from a cliff at Canyon Falls. Two people located her body in the water and pulled her out, while placing a call to 9-1-1 around 11 AM.
Medical personnel at the scene treated deep cuts found on the woman’s head and believe she may have been suffering from hypothermia. Temperatures were in the teens at the time.
The woman is expected to make a full recovery. Michigan State Police, the Michigan DNR, L’Anse and Covington Fire Departments, and Bay Ambulance assisted the Sheriff’s Office.
