Woman missing in Franklin Township

A Franklin Township woman has been missing through the night and another round of searches is ramping up Wednesday morning. The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public to be on the look out for Judith Plute. The 75-year-old suffers from dementia and Parkinson’s Disease.

Tuesday at 8:15 PM, deputies were called out to 22570 Forsman Road in Franklin Township. They were aided by the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team and two K-9 teams from the Michigan State Police, as well as other personnel from the Calumet Post. Houghton and Hancock City Police, Michigan Tech Public Safety, Superior Search and Rescue and the Houghton County Office of Emergency Measures also assisted.
