The new year has been personified by an image of a baby for hundreds of years, dating back to ancient Greece. And the New Year is a wonderful time to celebrate new arrivals. With residents already having truned the page for the 2023 calendar, the Copper Country had to wait just a few more days to meet its newest resident. Congratulations to Will and Stephanie Curtis of Calumet on welcoming the newest addition to their family and the local community, Elanor Mayme Curtis. Elanor was born at 5:42 pm yesterday at Keweenaw Aspirus Hospital in Laurium, and is the first baby born in the new year for the Keweenaw Peninsula. Stephanie and Will say that their baby girl is happy and healthy, weighing seven pounds and fourteen ounces, and is twenty and a half inches tall. Elanor is the happy couple’s third child, and a wonderful addition to their family. Congratulations to the Curtis’ for the newest bundle of joy added to their family.
