Veterans Day is every day at the Hubbell VFW Post. On Saturday Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq war vets came together with friends and family for a Veterans Day dinner and celebration. Dinner was served by volunteers from the Air Force ROTC at Michigan Tech. After a brief social hour, dinner and a few laughs, Post Commander Frank Ozanich presented a brief history of the post.
Founded in 1945 after veterans returned home to the area from World War II. The post moved from across the street to their current establishment. The building has seen a number of projects over the summer and has gotten a face lift with the help of the Air Force ROTC. The post also presented a plaque to Congressman Jack Bergman for his service and as a gesture and thank you for attending dinner with the Copper Ingot Post. Ozanich also revealed a new plaque thanking those who have supported the post’s efforts in restoring their home.
