The United States Department of Agriculture announced more than 1 million dollars in grants awarded to Northern Michigan and Upper Peninsula food producers. Yesterday Rural Development State Director for Michigan Brandon Fewins announced the department’s support for food producers and rural businesses making investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Bunches of Blessings in Baraga County will receive a portion of the department’s funding alongside four other businesses. Bunches of Blessings was awarded a grant worth nearly 10,000 dollars to purchase and install a four-kilowatt photovoltaic system. Other businesses awarded funds from the program are from Charlevoix, Delta and Grand Traverse counties. Bunches of Blessings grows ingredients for craft beverage companies in Michigan.
