Michigan Department of Transportation crews will get underway working to finish work to build a roundabout in Ishpeming. The US-41/M-28 and Lakeshore Drive roundabout work will resume on Monday. The state transportation department expects work on the 6.4 million dollar project will finish in the Fall.
Starting Monday and until mid-July North Lakeshore Drive will close and a detour posted for County Lane and River Parkway. A temporary signal will direct traffic and has been placed in the location. The area detour will start depending on weather conditions. During the project phase traffic will shift to the south lane of US-41/M-28 with one lane in each direction, with a center left turn lane for westbound vehicles at Lake Shore Drive.
