With warm temperatures feeling like they’ll stick around for a while. Construction season will soon start back up in Michigan. There are a couple of large projects restarting that travelers to and from the copper country should keep in mind when making travel plans.
Traveling south from US 41 to US 141, motorists should expect brief delays over a bridge near the East Branch of the Net River in Iron County. This work will resume starting today. Through March 15th vehicles will alternate using a single lane over the bridge. Temporary traffic signals have been placed in the area.
Another project impacting travel to the Keweenaw Peninsula re-starts with work on the roundabout intersections of US 41/M-28 and Lakeshore Dive in Ishpeming. That project will resume work on April 1st. During work, traffic will be reduced to a lane in each direction, and some additional detours will be placed as the project progresses through other phases. The Ishpeming roundabout project is expected to wrap up in late October this year.
