UPSET remains busy locally

Just days after a crystal meth bust in Hancock, UPSET has made another arrest, this time in Baraga County for the sale of suboxone. Following a one-month investigation in which an agent from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team was able to make two separate purchases of the narcotic, 36-year-old Dawn Hueckstaedt of L’Anse was apprehended Tuesday. She has since been arraigned in 97th District Court and released on bond.

Hueckstaedt is accused of driving the vehicle and enlisting a minor child to complete the transfer. She faces four felony charges; two counts of Delivery of Suboxone, one count of Inducing a Minor to Commit a Felony, and one count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance to a Minor. The crimes carry maximum penalties between three and 14 years. Hueckstaedt is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
