UPHS – Portage’s Dr. Charles Goodwin Shares Detection, Treatment and More Information at Tomorrow’s Breast Cancer Awareness Dinner

There are an estimated 200,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Tomorrow UPHS Portage hopes to educate the local area about breast cancer, including earlier detection, talking with your doctor, treatment methods, and support, during a special Breast Cancer awareness dinner. The hospital’s awareness dinner will include a presentation from oncologist and hematologist Doctor Charles Goodwin.

“He’ll talk about detection. Screenings, annual and monthly screenings that women should be doing. Then he also goes into the types and different stages of breast cancer, and treatment options as well. So it kind of runs the whole gamete of breast cancer awareness.”
– Angela Luskin, Community Health Coordinator, UPHS – Portage

The UPHS Portage Breast Cancer Awareness dinner tomorrow night will take place at the Bonfire in Houghton. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and the presentation with Dr. Charles Goodwin will begin at 5:30 p.m. The hospital does ask that those interested in attending the breast cancer awareness dinner please register online. The dinner is free to attend. Find more information below on the Breast Cancer Awareness Dinner including the link to register.
