UPCAP closes registration for the Powerful Tools program soon

Who cares for the caregivers in a community? Over a six-week online workshop, the Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress will host an online workshop aimed at giving caregivers the tools to help reduce stress and anxiety. The Powerful Tools for Caregivers workshop is designed for nonprofessional and informal family caregivers. Research studies have found that caregivers experience higher rates of depression and anxiety, and an increased vulnerability to health problems. The Powerful Tools program focuses on providing the tools for self-care to reduce guilt, stress anger, and depression, and communicate effectively. The program will begin on October 9th and meet on Wednesday mornings via Zoom. The program will accept registration until this Friday. Those interested in learning more about the Powerful Tools for Caregivers program with UPCAP, in partnership with Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice, can find more details here.
